When buying or bidding on a Marketplace item, you'll be prompted to enter your credit card information. You can ensure you're ready to bid or buy-now quickly by already having your information saved.
Marketplace sellers will process your order using either Stripe or Square. You will need to have a credit card on file for the same processor the seller uses. We recommend you add your card to both Stripe and Square.
To add or update your credit card as a Marketplace buyer, follow these steps:
- Log into your account.
- Go to User Settings.
- Click Payment Methods.
- Click ADD NEW CARD. We recommend you add your credit card to both Stripe and Square.
- Enter your card information and choose SAVE AS DEFAULT or SAVE.
Common Issues When Updating Your Card
Sometimes, you might encounter errors when entering your card information. Here are a few common issues to double-check:
- Zip Code: Ensure the zip code matches the one associated with your card; otherwise, the transaction may fail.
- Security Code: Be careful with worn cards, as numbers like 0 and 8 can look similar.
- Activation Status: If your card was recently activated, there may be a 24-hour block that requires a call to your card provider for removal.
- Multiple Charges: Some card providers block a card after 10-25 transaction attempts in a day. If this happens, you can either wait 24 hours or contact your provider to lift the restriction.
